// What happens when we lose our zest for life?
In 2017 an unexpected trauma sent me into an emotional tailspin. Like so many of us, I hid it, and the world continued to see ‘I’ve-got-it-together Danni’. It was only a select few who knew of my darkness and turmoil.
I felt emotionless. I called it “Blah”. No highs. No lows. Just blah.
I dealt with the depression by eating my emotions. Cakes. Donuts. Chocolate. Pastries. Cookies; and in just12 months, I stacked on so much weight that my clothes didn’t fit.
// But I couldn’t control it.
I had been an elite athlete. Playing netball at state level meant I understood discipline, healthy eating and how to manage both failure and success. I knew my behaviour was bad for me.
I cried myself to sleep, hardly able to look at the person in the mirror, despising all she was and everything she represented – fat, ugly, weak, worthless, useless.
Desperate for help, I felt that only an all-in-one psychologist, dietician and personal trainer could help me find myself again.

An ad for a Summer Body Reset, complete with an accountability partner, popped up in my inbox. It felt like destiny, so I jumped in and – as they say – the rest is history.
I regained control. I established good eating habits, kicked my sugar cravings, and began to exercise again. Knowledge of new wellness rituals empowered and re-invigorated me.
After a few months, people began to notice … my SPARK had returned!
